Louis XV Style Gilt Bronze (Ormolu) Figural Mantel Clock

The hand-written cursive text signature visible across the center of the white enamel dial reads "F. Barbedienne à Paris", attributing this masterwork to Ferdinand Barbedienne (1810–1892), who operated the most celebrated ultra-luxury art bronze foundry in 19th-century France.

The Sculpture: The asymmetrical case is crowned by a finely chased, patinated gilt bronze Putto / Cherub seated at the peak.

The Architecture: Designed in the classic Rocaille cartouche form, featuring dense asymmetric scrolling foliate patterns, openwork acanthus leaves, and floral swags typical of the Rococo Revival style under the Second Empire (Napoleon III period).
The Dial: Outfitted with an elegant white enamel clockface sporting black Roman numerals for the hours and an outer ring tracking Arabic numerals for the minutes.
